Problems of Nepalese in Nepal

    I have a question ……. ?

The country is going through serious political and economic crisis but still we listen everyday that meetings of political parties are not successful to make any decision or just next meeting has been scheduled.

On the other hand Nepal having centralized its power in Kathmandu, every Nepalese is facing tremendous problems. The overcrowded population, unmanaged urbanization, price hikes, dense traffic are some of the effects we could see these days in Kathmandu.

Centralization of power and authority in Kathmandu alone has caused serious problems of unemployment in other cities of the country, youths are getting mentally harassed and frustrated because of unavailability of employment opportunities in their states moreover they are being forced to move to Kathmandu; similarly it is very difficult on the part of students to survive in this city.

It is seen that millions of Nepalese are forced to go Kathmandu to collect job exams cards or to face job exams. Thousands of students have to come just to collect some academic papers and transcripts. Thousands of people are forced to visit here for some government clerical works or medical purpose. Almost in every case it is seen that the cost of transport and stay is more than actual cost needed for the work to be done. Let aside the hardships faced by Nepalese during these journeys, loss of health and time for getting job done.

The faces of Nepalese people in Kathmandu has lost its original smile and beauty somewhere covered by sweat and dust. Tiredness, confusion and hard lines can be easily seen in almost every general public’s face in Kathmandu.

Billions of rupees of Nepalese are being wasted everyday to go and come back from Kathmandu. Along with wastage of valuable time and hardships which could have been saved. It’s not possible for a poor general Nepalese to bear such costs on their part.

In summary the problems being faced by Nepalese in Kathmandu are:

  1. Centralized governments and its rigid policy

  2. Single International Airport in the country located alone in Kathmandu

  3. Extreme price hikes

  4. Poverty

  5. Overcrowded population

  6. Unemployment

  7. Adultery

  8. Water crisis

  9. Traffic problems

  10. Pollution

The above mentioned problems are the major problems in this country.

Youth of Nepal are seen frustrated and losing their love for the nation. Most of youths are talking about going abroad for work. And this is not their wish rather because they don’t have any employment or income source in the country.

Some youth even want to go abroad and never want to come back to Nepal rather if possible they want to settle abroad forever as they see no future in Nepal.

So as a Nepalese citizen I have a question…………………..

Is Kathmandu alone the Nepal or Does Nepal means only Kathmandu?

With this article I would like to draw attention of every responsible authority person and every Nation lovers to bring balance between powers in every district. Decentralization of power is the ultimate solution to many problems being faced by every Nepalese. Government needs to be strong and united and solve the problems by:

  1. Decentralization of government , power and bringing flexible policies for every Nepalese

  2. Easy access to facilities in every districts and insure basic needs of every Nepalese

  3. Control on price hikes in cities

  4. Solving the problems of Adultery

  5. Encouragements for creation of business and jobs in every districts

  6. Government should also consider about providing International Airports in various locations for betterment of Nepalese and my motherland Nepal.
